Chad será la sede del Campeonato del Mundo de petanca en 2016 y del campeonato de África 2015. El presidente de la Federación Internacional de Petanca Claude Azémar, presentó el pliego de condiciones para la organización del evento en Cotonou. Hace sólo unos años que el deporte de la petanca empezó a formar parte de las costumbres de Chad.

El ministro de deportes de Chad aseguró que el gobierno hará todo lo posible para que estas dos citas deportivas sean un gran éxito.
